Surface Protection Packaging - Home Improvement Store Concept

GO2 was tasked with updating the packaging & signage for Waxman’s line of surface protection products. The overall goal was to simplify the buying journey while creating a high-end feel. The new planograms had to appeal to those who shop at home improvement stores (the Home Depot and Lowes stores).

The client requested that the products be grouped under four brands – SuperSliders, ScuffStoppers, SurfaceProtectors, and CasterCraft. The products had a number of subcategories that needed to be called out while still remaining clear and concise. Because of this, the hierarchy on the new planogram and packaging was determined through user research and testing. The customer needed the information about the products clearly communicated. This was done through simple tags, iconography and bold color choices.

This concept was done in collaboration with an Art Director.

Surface Protection Packaging - Home Décor Store Concept

GO2 was also tasked to create an entirely new brand to cater to a “home décor” audience (Target and Hobby Lobby stores). This planogram needed to group all of the products under one brand, “Surface Protect.”

Since there no longer had to be multiple brand names used, we had to differentiate the different lines of products in a different manner. Simple patterns were used to add visual interest and to call out what surface type the product was intended for.
